Father Christmas (1895)

Father christmas 1895 illustration

It's always very easy to find
Plenty of people to whom to be kind.
There are plenty of children, I'm sorry to say,
Who get no presents on Christmas day;
And Tommy and Esther soon found that they
Had given their twenty-four presents away.
And then they went home, happy and glad,
Although no toys for themselves they had.
"How happy Father Christmas must be
He can give so many more presents than we."
And Mother said, "Always keep Christmas Day
Not by getting but giving away. (E. Bland)
