Fashion plate produced as a supplement to The Queen magazine.

White lace veils were worn to protect the face from sand and sea breezes and to provide shade from the glare of the sun. Attached to wide brimmed hats, they could be quickly lowered to provide protection and privacy when taking a turn along the pier or strolling on the beach.
