Well done all!

Rail Strikes

Strike action will impact on the train services in the month of October. Due to this action, there will be no West Midlands Railway service on any route on Saturday 1 October, Wednesday 5 October and a significantly reduced service on some routes on Saturday 8 October. Some early morning services on Sunday 2 October, Thursday 6 October and Sunday 9 October may also be impacted due to the displacement of trains.

City Centre Traffic Restrictions

Birmingham is hosting the Conservative Party Conference 2022, which is taking place at the ICC on Sunday 2 October to Wednesday 5 October. To organise and facilitate the event, various road closures will apply in the immediate vicinity of the venue, on Cambridge Street, Broad Street, and Bridge Street between Tuesday 27 September and Friday 7 October.

These changes will mainly impact motorists. There are no restrictions for pedestrians. Find out how cyclists can gain access here.

You are advised to plan your journey and to walk, cycle or use public transport wherever possible. Business and leisure venues on Broad Street, Brindley Place and the surrounding areas will remain open as usual. Access to the Library of Birmingham and Register Office are unaffected; however you are advised to allow extra time for your journey.

Have your say

Dartmouth Middleway/Great Lister Street/Lister Street junction improvement - The proposals will remove the right turn movements for all traffic from all arms of the junction to improve the traffic flow on the Middleway. It would enable buses and cyclists to continue to travel in both directions between Great Lister Street and Lister Street through a proposed bus gate. Consultation closes on 10 October 2022
