Birmingham Connected Extra - A34 Perry Barr Highways Scheme - January 2022

New Road Layout

A34 Perry Barr Highways Scheme

Work continues to progress on the A34 Perry Barr Highway Scheme with block paving now installed in front of the Probation Office, the footpath is complete at the One Stop Shopping Centre (Northern access) and the new bridge at Birchfield is now structurally finished.

As part of the continuing works, we will be changing the traffic management that is currently in place. From Friday 28 January:

  • There will be a new road layout southbound on the A34 at Harrier Way, with traffic bound for the City Centre heading straight on.
  • The slip road from the A453 southbound to the A34 underpass will be closed.

Through routes will be signposted and regular road users should be alert to the possible need to be in a different lane to the one they have become accustomed to.

If you use these routes, please plan ahead and allow more time for your journey or use an alternative route if you can.
