Volunteering, work experience, and work placements

If you are looking for a taster in working with exotic animals, the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park offers work experience placements of one or two weeks.

These placements are open to Year 10 and 11 school students looking to complete a week of work experience, as well as other students completing college- or university-level courses, or any other individuals interested in gaining experience in this sector.

We appreciate that parents and guardians may wish to enquire about these positions on the behalf of a young person, but we strongly encourage young people to apply to us on their own behalf where possible.

To enquire about completing one of these placements, please email bhamconservationpark@birmingham.gov.uk, making clear what dates you are applying for.

We are happy to do our best to accommodate adults of any ability level to complete work experience here, but where there are issues of special educational needs we require a second adult to accompany the placement to act in a mentor role.

If you have any queries regarding work experience opportunities for any adult with additional needs, please contact us via the above email address. Applications for longer term volunteering placements are currently closed for the foreseeable future.
