The way the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is supporting care providers with PPE has changed following the publication of the Adult Social Care Winter Plan 2020/21.

Domiciliary and Care Homes should request PPE for their Covid-19 needs from the government portal – the Council will not be supplying to these providers however if you are experiencing difficulties sourcing FFP3 protection and gowns you can email PPEstock@birmingham.gov.uk

If you are a Direct Payment recipient please note PPE is only provided where you employ Personal Assistants, where a care agency are used they are required to provide the PPE themselves.

The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) has committed to providing free PPE for Covid-19 requirements to relevant Adult Social Care services including directly employed Personal Assistants within Birmingham until 31st March 2021.
