School crossing patrols

School crossing patrol wardens (lollipop men and women) can stop traffic to allow both adults and children to cross the road safely.

Only trained school crossing patrol wardens can use a stop sign (lollipop) and they must only operate in designated sites.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for ensuring the safety of their children, even where a school crossing patrol is provided.
