This document will set out planning policies for Moseley to give clear guidance about the future of the 'village', Wake Green, Moor Green and Cannon Hill. It identifies policies to:
- help conserve the character and appearance of Moseley whilst promoting acceptable development and improvements
- promote sustainability, and
- assist the regeneration of the area, e.g. by providing a basis for funding bids and encouraging partners to work together
In 2010 local residents were asked a number of questions to help identify the communities' needs and wishes. These are now being taken into account as the draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is being drawn up.
This draft plan is being prepared by the Moseley Community Development Trust (CDT) in collaboration with the council. It is the first community led SPD in Birmingham and will provide a leading example of how communities can play a more active role in shaping their area.
Once adopted, the Moseley SPD will replace the existing 1992 Moseley Local Action Plan and complement the recently adopted Kings Heath Local Action Plan.
Full details of the work carried out so far on the draft SPD can be found on the Moseley Community Development Trust's Website.
