Loss of Industrial Land - Supplementary Planning Document
The Loss of Industrial Land Supplementary Planning Document is considered in planning application decisions that involve the loss of industrial land.
The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to developers on the information required when submitting a planning application that involves a change of use from industrial land to an alternative use, such as housing or retail.
The SPD provides more detailed guidance to the policies in Chapter 4 of the Unitary Development Plan. In particular, it requires developers to provide evidence that an industrial site has been actively marketed, to demonstrate whether there is demand for industrial re-use/redevelopment.
