1. Birmingham City Council - CareMatch Portal Key Messages (Information for contracted Providers)

Can providers check that their CareMatch Portal Users are up to date. Section 8.7 of the User Guide for providers using Care Match Portal | Birmingham City Council (see link below) explains how to do this. If Users have left your organisation and no longer need access to the system, please contact marketintellingence@birmingham.gov.uk. This message would need to come from registered managers, owners, or staff that have the permission to Manage Users.

2. REMINDER NHS Birmingham and Solihull (Bsol) Training Hub June 2025 (Information for Birmingham and Solihull Care Homes)

The Birmingham and Solihull Training Hub Website is for those working in a primary or social care role in the Solihull / Birmingham area. The information is for students looking for support with career development or a visitor wanting to find out more.

After a brief hiatus IPC’s virtual training sessions will resume on Friday, 13 June 2025, 2:00pm. The topic of the next session is “How to prevent to spread of Scabies”.

4. REMINDER Continuing Health Care (CHC) Fast Track Training Events 2025/2026 – next event 19 June 2025 (Information for Birmingham and Solihull Care Homes)

You are invited to attend one of the CHC team’s friendly Fast Track training events taking place on the Third Thursday of every month 14:00pm – 16:00pm. Suitable for Allied healthcare and social care practitioners who could be involved in completing Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Checklists in relation to NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).

Aims:

  • To understand this element of the NHS Continuing Healthcare Process in line with Revised National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare 2022
  • Understand the process of referral into the NHS Continuing Healthcare Fast Track Pathway by completion of the Continuing Healthcare Fast Track Tool.

5. REMINDER Birmingham City Council (BCC) - Adult Social Care Deep Engagement Partner Programme Awareness Training 19 June 2025 (Information for all Birmingham Providers)

As part of Adult Social Care Deep Engagement Partner Programme, BCC have partnered with community organisations in Birmingham to address health inequalities across different community groups. As part of this, BCC’s partners are all delivering free training sessions on their respective communities, the aim being to improve the understanding and awareness of the needs of the communities among those working in health and social care and any other services that work with communities.

Birmingham LGBT are delivering the following trainings on the LGBTQ+ community and they were keen that these be promoted to your service.

6. REMINDER NHS Birmingham and Solihull (BSOL) - Support to Care Homes Training June 2025(Information for all Birmingham and Solihull Care Homes)

Information about this subject has been circulated to providers. If you don’t have a copy, please email marketintelligence@birmingham.gov.uk. This includes details of the Support to Care Homes Team virtual training for all Care Home staff across Birmingham and Solihull Care homes.

There are valuable informative training sessions this month on

  • Recognising Deterioration
  • Introduction to Dementia

The training will be hosted by the Solihull Support to Care homes Team and is open to all Care Home staff across Birmingham and Solihull care homes and joining details can be accessed via the BSol Healthzone Care Home App. Or contact Supportto.carehomeservice@uhb.nhs.uk
