2. Skills for Care - Evaluation of the UK’s Adverse Weather and Health Plan (AWHP) – Survey (Information for all Providers)

Researchers at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine are conducting an evaluation of the UK’s AWHP. The AWHP was created by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) in 2023 and aims to protect individuals and communities from the health effects of adverse weather.

The evaluation is focusing on how the AWHP is being implemented in local health and social care organisations in England and includes a short knowledge survey to understand awareness and use of the AWHP and/or similar local plans. The survey should take no more than five minutes to complete.

3. REMINDER Birmingham City Council – Birmingham Connect to Support (Information for all Providers Operating in Birmingham)

For any provider wishing to promote their services or any of their activities, please be aware that we are unable to include these in our Bulletin. 4. REMINDER NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (BSOL ICB) - Urgent Community Response (UCR) Birmingham and Solihull - latest information and resources (Birmingham and Solihull Care Homes)

Care Homes in Birmingham and Solihull are advised to contact the UCR in the first instance for receiving urgent care. The team can provide a rapid response service within two hours of your call. This referral service offers an alternative to calling an ambulance and helps to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions or readmissions. This service has highly skilled and dedicated clinicians who can deliver a rapid response to the urgent care needs of your residents or refer to the ambulance service if emergency hospital care is needed.

5. Birmingham and Solihull End of Life Care - End of Life Care Toolkit (Information for Birmingham and Solihull Care Homes)

This platform brings together information and resources on end-of-life care. It has been created by hospital, hospice, and community healthcare professionals from across Birmingham and Solihull, with the aim of improving access to up-to-date information and to provide a ‘toolkit’ to support in the planning and delivery of care for people in their final months, weeks, and days of life. The toolkit has been designed for use by anyone who has an interest in end-of-life care, whether in a professional or personal capacity.

9. CANCELLED Birmingham and Solihull Nurses and Clinical Leads Network for Nurses working in Social Care, Thursday, 15 May 2025 (Information for Birmingham and Solihull Nursing Homes)

The Integrated Commissioning Board (ICB) regret to inform you that they have had to cancel their Birmingham and Solihull Nurses and Clinical Leads Network meeting for Nurses working in Social Care scheduled for 15 May 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.

This decision is due to the current pressures within their team. They thank you for your continued support of the network. The next meeting will be 16 September 2025.
