Update for schools: 8 July 2021

This update includes information about the updated risk assessment template, a letter regarding home to school transport drivers and guides and the walk in vaccination sites for this week and next week.

Free school meal vouchers and Holiday Activities Programme information

Earlier today we sent headteachers information about the free school meal vouchers for the summer holidays. We have also shared a letter for schools to distribute to families with information about the Holiday Activities Programme.

New government guidance for schools

Following the Secretary of State’s announcement on Tuesday of the new guidance for schools, we are updating our risk assessment template and will share this early next week.

We recommend that schools continue to apply the current restriction measures until the end of term. Any schools with queries can contact edsi.enquiries@birmingham.gov.uk

Letter for schools whose pupils use home to school transport

Please find at this link a letter to confirm that all pupil guides and drivers provided by Travel Assist are subject to appropriate checks, including Enhanced DBS and Barred List and Right to Work checks.

Please retain this letter for your Single Central Record.
