Shelforce shortlisted for GBCC awards

Councillor Sharon Thompson, Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods, congratulates Shelforce on being shortlisted for the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce awards

As the largest local authority providing social housing in the country we get to work with many very good contractors. Birmingham City Councils window and door manufacturing Business unit Shelforce is one such example.

Shelforce specialise in providing high quality PVCu and aluminium products to many local authorities including Birmingham and have built good relationships with our other contractors including Wates, Engie and Fortem. A short video explaining their work can be viewed on the Shelforce website.

I am therefore delighted that they have been short listed as finalists for the prestigious Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce annual awards. The Shelforce Team are finalists for two awards, Excellence in Manufacture and Excellence in People development.

The Shelforce teams dedication to continuous improvement is testament to the passion, commitment and teamwork that thrives in their Erdington factory where they employ and train people with disabilities.

I would particularly like to highlight the role that the Business Manager Howard Trotter and his whole team of 30 staff have played in getting short listed twice and wish them luck at the ceremony on 27 July.
