Neighbourhood Management Programmes have been set up in all 10 city constituencies to address the issues of joblessness, training and skills shortages with the long-term aim of job creation. There is a focus on young people and education, improving health and well-being and creating cleaner greener environments. The programme covers 31 priority neighbourhoods and aims to improve the coordination of services and provide a more cost effective and efficient service for local people specifically in these neighbourhoods.
In Hodge Hill constituency, Bordesley Green, Bromford, Saltley and Washwood Heath, Small Heath Park and Small Heath, Ward End and Alum Rock North are priority neighbourhood's.
Neighbourhood management involves Birmingham City Council working in partnership with local residents, business organisations, statutory partners like police, fire service, Primary Care Trusts, Environmental Services, Highways and Transportation teams, faith centres, voluntary and community organisations.
The local programmes marks the start of the new way of neighbourhood working and service delivery. Over the coming years, and with local support and involvement, the plans should deliver real and lasting improvements to the quality of life for the constituency
