The Greater Icknield Draft Masterplan provides guidance on development and regeneration in the Greater Icknield area located to the west of the City Centre.

It provides more detailed guidance for the area building upon the proposed strategic housing allocation in the emerging Birmingham Development Plan.

There are over 60 hectares of new development opportunities within the Greater Icknield area making it the largest brownfield housing led redevelopment proposal in Birmingham. With the potential to provide approximately 3000 new homes and 1000 new jobs, the area will make a substantial contribution to helping the City meet the needs of its growing population.

We are committed to working with local residents, businesses and community groups to achieve the goals set out in this masterplan

Public consultation on the draft masterplan was undertaken from 6th January - 3rd March 2014 and has now ended. All the comments received will be carefully considered and the masterplan will be amended where appropriate, before it is adopted in Summer 2014.

A copy of the Masterplan is below, along with a map showing the area covered by the proposals.
