4. Clean Air Zone - end of residents exemptions 31 May 2023 (information for all care providers operating in the Birmingham Clean Air Zone)

As some of you may be aware, the temporary exemption period for residents living within the Clean Air Zone is due to end on 31 May 2023. After that point, any previously exempt non-compliant vehicles for residents will be subject to the daily charge. Full details of Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone, including its location, can be found on our Brum Breathes website, here:

https://www.brumbreathes.co.uk/info/25/welcome-2/45/charges-operation-1

We have undergone a process of reminders to those individuals who are in a receipt of exemptions and we are keen to ensure we have taken every available route in order reach all relevant drivers. One aspect of this process has involved a recurrent series of reminders sent to the email addresses we hold from the successful exemption applications. Anyone in possession of a existing residents exemption should now have received several reminders of its termination, with more reminders due to be sent out between now and 31 May 2023.

If you have any questions, please email cleanair@birmingham.gov.uk.
