EU Settlement Scheme: Information for schools and webinar

The application deadline for the EU Settlement Scheme is 30th June 2021 and we know many schools are keen to support families with this process.

Settled status for EU citizens will guarantee access to:

  • Public services, such as healthcare and schools.
  • Public funds and pensions.
  • British citizenship, if you meet the requirements and want to apply.

Birmingham City Council provides the ID Scanning and Verification Service, to help and support citizens with their applications. It is an appointment only service that the council’s Register Office provides free of charge. Appointments can be booked at this link. The below local organisations in Birmingham have been commissioned to assist EU citizens with applications, their advice and support is FREE. A full list of organisations can be found on the council’s website. Alternatively, contact EUSSBirmingham@birmingham.gov.uk

Birmingham Healthy City Planning Toolkit

The Birmingham Healthy City Planning Toolkit is now open for consultation until 30th June 2021.

The toolkit has been designed to help Birmingham become a health-giving city, where environment and surroundings offer opportunities to improve the health and well-being of the population. The toolkit contains a range of questions that helps developers to consider the health impacts of new developments. Birmingham Public Health want the people of Birmingham, strategic partners, and key agencies to let us know if they support the toolkit approach, and to help understand whether it presents barriers or opportunities for creating a city that improves health and well-being. There is also a child friendly development section in the toolkit, which Birmingham Public Health would like to hear from parents and staff about.

Birmingham Public Health would like to hear schools’ views on the toolkit. Please complete the consultation using this link and share it widely with families and communities.

If you have any queries, please contact publichealth@birmingham.gov.uk
