SEND Parent and Carer Survey: Deadline 15 July 2020

A new survey has been launched this month aimed at Birmingham-based parents/carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The short survey, which takes around 10-15 minutes to complete, captures feedback from families about their experience of the Birmingham SEND service, including views on the support provided by the service during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To take the survey please click here:

The survey will close on 15th July 2020. Please circulate the link to the survey across your networks (thank you).
Feedback from families about their experience of the Birmingham SEND service will help Birmingham Children’s Partnership agencies (including Birmingham City Council, NHS Birmingham and Solihull CCG, Birmingham Children’s Trust and Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust) to understand what is working well and where there is room for improvement.

If you would like further information about this survey, please contact:

Online Careers Events: 14 and 16 July and 18 and 20 August

Given the current situation we all find ourselves in during Covid-19 educational providers have further developed their Online Virtual teaching and learning to respond to everyone’s needs.

We are currently at the point in the year where young people aged 16-18 years would have had the opportunity to visit (in person) Post 16 settings, or to have had careers events within schools etc… to understand their education offers and be making informed decisions of their next steps, unfortunately due to the Coronavirus the ways in which we are engaging with young people at the moment has had to change.

As a result we have been working with The Birmingham & Solihull Provider Network to make sure that young people are aware of the Post 16 education offer, and have the opportunity to discuss online with qualified careers advisors their options going forward.

There are four Online Careers Events open to all young people, they are all being held virtually and the links are in the attached flyer for young people to book a place to find out more information from the professionals.  Young people can choose the sector areas in which they might be interest.  All the links and information are in the attached flyer.

Online Careers Events:
Tuesday 14th July 2020
Thursday 16th July 2020

These are also going to be replicated in August 2020, for those young people who are still uncertain of their next steps:
Tuesday 18th August 2020
Thursday 20th August 2020

Please could you circulate the attached information to all the young people that you work with.

Travel survey – win a bike!

Sustrans, the walking and cycling charity, have developed a survey here looking at how children and their parents/guardians travel to and from school. The survey is only 10 questions long and should take less than 4 minutes to fill out. This survey is really important for determining how we can make school runs safer, easier and more sustainable. It would be greatly appreciated if you could distribute this survey through your email lists, text, newsletters, and social media (closing date 19th July).

Everyone that completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a bike and accessories worth up to £400! -
