This month we are going to be looking at the role of the BIPC network and how it can help you to set up your business by providing a comprehensive program of events, seminars and 1 to 1 appointments.

The BIPC network was setup around ten years ago and originally included The British Library and libraries in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield. Its aim is to provide free advice and information for anybody looking to start a business, and to achieve a consistency of provision by sharing good practice already in place and to collaborate in bringing innovative methods of delivery across the whole country.

The network is co-ordinated by the British Library, which has recently been able to get funding from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to support libraries in obtaining resources such as databases, staff and equipment.

So, keep a look out for the new initiatives coming your way in 2021! In the meantime, Business and Learning are offering remote 1 to 1 business and intellectual property advice through Microsoft Teams. Please visit http://bit.ly/brecseminars to book an appointment. You can also email us with any questions or queries.
