Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market 2019

Published: Thursday, 17th October 2019

The city’s internationally renowned Frankfurt Christmas Market will mark its 20th year in Birmingham when it returns next month.

Date: Thursday 7 November to Monday 23 December 2019

Times: 10am to 9pm daily

Location: Victoria Square and New Street, Birmingham

Birmingham's popular Frankfurt Christmas Market returns on in November to get the city in a festive mood in the run up to Christmas, with a tempting selection of food and drink, alongside stalls selling traditional toys, ornaments and gifts.

The popular market will open on Thursday 7 November, bringing with it the festive aroma of hot gluhwein, schnitzel and spicy sausage, which will be filling New Street and Victoria Square for more than six weeks.

Earlier this year, the Frankfurt Christmas Market was named Best Outdoor Event in Birmingham by readers of What’s On – for the second year running.

The big wheel and ice rink will return to Centenary Square, and will run from Thursday 7 November 2019 until Sunday 12 January 2020, between 10am and 10pm, except on Christmas Day.

This year Family Day will take place on 24 November, when visitors will be able to get discounts on a wide range of stalls.

As a mark of respect, the market will be closed until 1pm on Sunday 10 November and traders will observe a two-minute silence on Monday 11 November.
