Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards Being Established Across Birmingham

All nine Birmingham Pride in Place areas now have Independent Neighbourhood Chairs in place. Seven Chairs have been fully appointed, while two appointments remain conditional pending the completion of due diligence checks. Following completion of the appointment process, including any outstanding due diligence checks, the Council will share the names of all appointed Independent Neighbourhood Chairs. 

Neighbourhood Boards are currently being established in all areas, bringing together local residents, community organisations and other stakeholders to help shape local priorities. The first Board meetings are planned for July. 

The Boards will play a central role in developing a shared vision for each neighbourhood and guiding how Pride in Place investment is used over the next decade. Following their initial meetings, Boards will begin a programme of community engagement to understand local priorities and identify where funding can make the greatest impact. 

Independent Neighbourhood Chairs will lead the Boards and work closely with residents, community groups, local MPs and Birmingham City Council to ensure local voices are at the heart of decision-making. 

Overall, Birmingham has nine Pride in Place Programme Areas: 

• Druids Heath 

• Fox Hollies 

• Glebe Farm 

• Handsworth West 

• Hawkesley 

• Kingstanding 

• Nechells 

• Sparkbrook North 

• Woodgate

Complaints Procedure
