Before you apply
Before you apply for a Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) grant, you must have an energy audit carried out on your business premises.
The audit will produce a report outlining energy efficiency recommendations.
When you will need an energy audit
You will need an energy audit if:
- you have not had an energy audit before
- it has been more than 2 years since your last energy audit
If you have had an energy audit in the last 2 years, you do not need to register for another audit.
You will need to submit your energy audit with your BEAS grant application.
How to register
To register for your free energy audit or assessment, you will need to provide:
- recent energy bill details (gas and electricity)
- a Companies House number if your business is a limited company
- a company registration number if your business is a community interest company (CIC)
Register for a free BEAS energy audit.
After you register
For standard applications, you will usually receive a response within 72 hours.
Arranging an audit can take up to a month.
You will usually receive your energy report within 2 to 3 months.
When you receive the report
After you receive your energy report, you can:
- choose whether to apply for a grant
- decide whether to implement the recommendations
