Barnardo's are a charity who offer support to young people through the direct intervention.

Work includes a variety of evidence-based activities and resources including resilience approaches, solution focused approaches, motivational approaches and art and creative activities.

Birmingham Virtual School currently commission Barnardo's to:

  • offer a 12 week programme of intervention for one to one support for one hour per week for young people in year 9 – 11. BVS particularly use them to support young people to develop resilience; with young people with mental health diagnoses; and with those at risk of NEET.
  • Run a Duke of Edinburgh scheme for our young people. We currently have two groups running.
  • To run Arts Awards groups for our young people.
