Right Trax

As part of our Raising Aspirations programme (RAP), The Birmingham Virtual School is delighted to be working with RIGHT TRAX to offer aspiring motorcycle/car mechanics the opportunity of attending a five day course which will allow them to achieve the NOCN Level 1 Award in Vocational Studies.

RIGHT TRAX mission is to promote motorcycle safety, awareness and teaching respect in a supervised and structured environment.

Using motorcycles as the medium of communication to young people from ten upwards.

During this programme young people will:

  • carry out basic assessments of motorcycle parts, tyre pressures and/or treads
  • learn techniques for carrying out simple motorcycle repairs and
  • remove and replace motorcycle rims and the brake assembly.

This programme is one that will be engaging and fun but with outcomes relevant to career/training opportunities in the future.

Many of the skills learnt on this course will be transferable to a range of other careers/professions.

Safe motorcycle riding will be part of the course and will be carried out under close supervision.

Safe social distancing measures will be taken to ensure that young people are kept safe.
