Local authority guidance

All Local authorities must appoint a Virtual School Headteacher for looked-after and previously looked-after children.

The role and expected duties of the designated are set down in Statutory Department for Education guidance and update periodically.

Designated Teacher Handbook

Birmingham Virtual School will publish a practice handbook for its designated teachers, collating key information and setting out effective practice.

This handbook will be available in Autumn 2020.
