Emergency community response hub

Important Notice - Bank Holiday weekend

If you have no assistance from family or friends and have a medical condition which makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus and you are self-isolating and need urgent support this weekend, please visit the website www.theaws.co.uk/relief and complete the form. Please note to ensure we are assisting our most vulnerable citizens you should only contact them if you have no other means of help.

The council have launched an emergency community response hub to provide support to our most vulnerable citizens.

The service will prioritise those in critical need who have received a letter from NHS England stating they are in a priority group or those that are self-isolating for shorter periods but are unable to rely on family or friends for adequate practical support.

This may be in relation to:

  • Emergency food supplies
  • Social contact

We will be signposting and connecting vulnerable citizens who have no assistance from family or friends and need help to voluntary organisations and community groups for support, which may be provided by the Council or the voluntary sector.

If you are able to use existing help and support from family and friends, please do continue to do this so that we can focus on our most vulnerable citizens.
