One-off grant payments to hospitality and leisure businesses

The council have agreed to provide a one-off grant of £10,000 to 421 hospitality and leisure businesses who have not been eligible for previous government grant support.

The £10,000 one-off grant is for hospitality and leisure businesses (but not retail) from the following groups:

  • restaurants
  • pubs, clubs, bars
  • museums, art galleries
  • cinemas, theatres
  • bingo halls, amusement arcades
  • cafes, coffee houses

We have agreed to use funds from the £22.8 million Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) to help businesses.

These grants will only be paid to eligible businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000, who require emergency support to protect jobs or stay afloat.

We will contact those businesses that need to provide additional information or have not already completed an online application form in order to process the payment as quickly as possible.

The ARG Fund was provided to local authorities by the government to administer discretionary payments to businesses who did not automatically qualify for government grant schemes.

We have contacted all those businesses that needed to provide additional information or have not already completed an online application form.

If we do not receive an application from you by Monday 15 February 2021 you will not be considered for this payment.
