Phased reopening of day care centres - Update June 2021

The phased reopening of day care centres across the city commenced from 26 April 2021.

Please note that not all building based services were able to resume immediately.

Day centre services will look very different for the foreseeable future.

  • The number of people that can attend daily has been reduced.
  • How transport and meals are provided has changed.
  • Citizens are required to socially distance, wear masks if they are able to do so, wash their hands regularly
  • May be allocated to small groups (bubbles).

Social distancing restrictions will require day centre providers to be flexible in how they continue to support citizens, providing a mixture of centre based, online and outreach services.

A letter was sent to citizens and carers to share this news via their day care centres in April.

If you require further information about this please email: Dayopportunitiesvision@birmingham.gov.uk.

As always, the city council remains committed to ensuring that we continue to meet the care and support needs of our service users and carers wherever possible.

If there is any additional support that your family members or you would like, please contact Adult Social Care at csadultsocialcare@birmingham.gov.uk or telephone: 0121 303 1234.
