Background
Raymond Crompton Rhodes was born in 1887.
He worked as drama critic for the Birmingham Post and was the author of many books on the theatre.
He had a keen interest in Shakespeare.
He died suddenly in 1935, aged just 48, and his collection came to the Library of Birmingham.
