Notifying you of the school we are proposing to allocate to your child
You will be sent a letter of intent, along with a Notice of Amendment, at the end of the Autumn Term of your child’s year 6 academic year informing you of the proposed school to be allocated.
This will explain how you can make representations to Birmingham City Council if you disagree with, or have any concerns about the proposed school place before a final/amended final EHC Plan is issued.
Birmingham City Council is required to issue a final or amended final EHC Plan by 15 February of your child’s Year 6 academic year.
You will have an opportunity to speak with someone in Birmingham City Council about the intended school to be allocated to your child, before the EHC Plan is finalised.
If you have concerns about the content of the proposed EHC Plan and the school that has been allocated, you can speak to your child’s SENAR Principal Officer who will work with you to identify the best way forward and to resolve any issues.
Full contact details of your child’s SENAR Principal Officer will be included in the letter of intent.
