Index to a collection of tracings made from a selection of rating maps issued between 1870 to 1871 which were employed in a revaluation of the borough. One of the few sets of maps indicating the running order of house numbers.

Tithe Map Inventory
The title Tithe map is typically applied to map of a parish/township produced after the 1836 Commutation Act which permitted tithe payments to be made in cash rather than goods as was the ecclesiastical root of a tithe. The maps produced after 1836 have an
accompanying schedule or apportionment which provides details of the land owner, occupier, title owner plus information of the rateable value of the land plus size and usage if known.
