September 2018

Birmingham City Council has published the latest update to its Corporate Governance Improvement Plan, alongside minutes to the latest Birmingham Independence Improvement Panel meeting.

On September 12, the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government responded to the June 2018 Improvement Stocktake Report.

June 2018

On 29 June, the council published an Improvement Stocktake Report, which was responded to by the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel.

March 2018

On 8 March, the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel and Birmingham City Council published a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to update him on the current situation and future plans for working together.

September 2017

The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, has written a response to a letter he received from the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel on August 4.

On 20 September, the panel sent a response to the Secretary of State.

August 2017

The Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel has published letter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government reporting on Birmingham City Council’s improvement progress since February 2017. The council also responded to the latest letter.

March 2017

The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government sent a letter following the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel’s update, and the council responded to the letter from the Secretary of State.

February 2017

On Friday 24 February, the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel published their letter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government detailing their analysis of the council’s progress.

November/December 2016

On Wednesday 9 November, the Birmingham Independent Panel published a letter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government reporting on the progress that Birmingham City Council has made in implementing the recommendations of the Kerslake Report in the twenty one months since the report’s publication.

The Panel’s letter is published alongside the Council’s own self assessment of its progress.

On 1 December, the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, responded in a letter to the Panel's progress report.

March 2016

On Monday 21 March, the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel submitted its final progress report to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

January 2016

On 11 January 2016, the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel submitted their latest progress report to Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

On 16 January, Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, responded to the Panel's progress report.

December 2015

The council’s 12-month progress report was published on 7 December 2015.
