Bike banks for kids

We know kids out-grow clothes and shoes quickly, and bikes are no different. Bike Banks are a bike loan scheme just for Birmingham’s kids.

We recycle bikes, service and upgrade them, and distribute them out of a network of Wellbeing Centres and Community Hubs. You borrow a bike which is the right size for you. When you outgrow the bike, bring it back and borrow a bigger one.

Bike Banks will launch later in 2017. To register your interest, please email us.

Bike Banks will be free to use for anyone aged 15 and under (with parent or guardian’s consent), but we do ask you to take part in cycle lessons, such as Bikeability, either through your school or in the community before you borrow your first bike. You’ll also need to commit to making good use of the bike and to completing occasional monitoring surveys.
