Joint strategy launch event

On 11 February 2026, over 100 partners, practitioners, and stakeholders met at the Council House for the joint launch of our:

  • Creating a Mentally Healthy City Strategy
  • Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism Provider Collaborative Strategy

You can download the strategies on the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust website.

Attendees from the NHS, the council, voluntary and community organisations, and lived experience groups came together to build a shared understanding of Birmingham’s mental health priorities.

The morning presentations outlined:

  • both strategies’ vision to strengthen prevention, early intervention, and community resilience
  • the provider collaborative’s commitment to integrated, person-centred pathways for people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and autism
  • equity, accessibility, and cross-system collaboration

In the afternoon, four workshops explored key priority areas:

  • public health prevention
  • improving support for people in crisis
  • shaping the 24/7 Neighbourhood Mental Health Hub in East Birmingham
  • enhancing mental health support for children and young people

These sessions generated ideas to support future implementation.

We will continue to work in partnership with the Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism Provider Collaborative Strategy.
