Moor Street car park

Cars exiting Moor Street car park in the city centre have not been able to proceed straight on to Moor Street (leading to Moor Street Queensway) since 5 October 2016. Instead they have been channelled left onto Park Street, and directed to exit the city through Digbeth joining the ring road in Bordesley, rather than travelling through the city core.

A temporary closure to prevent vehicles from proceeding from Digbeth B4100 onto Moat Lane B4100, and the removal of the traffic signals at the south-eastern end of the one-way system, was in place to support this change.

The new arrangement was intended to address congestion issues affecting bus operations and to improve the punctuality of bus services around Moor Street Queensway. This was initially implemented for a trial period of four weeks.

The scheme was considered successful and we are now developing a permanent arrangement to replace the trial.
