Safeguarding and child protection

Although there isn’t anything in the law that says that SENDIASS must look into safeguarding or child protection issues, our duties as officers of Birmingham City Council mean that we will report any suspected abuse. This includes:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Neglect
  • Bullying
  • Domestic violence
  • Drug abuse
  • Child sexual exploitation
  • Matters relating to radicalisation.
