What is a Housing Liaison Board (HLB)

Housing Liaison Boards (HLBs) are made up of a group of tenants, leaseholders, local residents, Councillors and housing staff who monitor and improve housing services in their local area.

HLBs focus on issues important to their particular area of Birmingham. The City HLB looks at issues across the whole city.

We are always keen to welcome new members, particularly those from groups who are currently under represented, such as young people, people new to Birmingham, people from minority ethnic communities, owner-occupiers, and gay and lesbian people.

Every HLB must have an approved constitution and code of conduct in order to be recognised by the council.

To find out more about HLBs and how to join one, please read our Guide to Birmingham Housing Liaison Boards.
