If you don't pay the service charge

If you don't pay the service charge, the council can take you to court and you could lose your home. The council has to follow special procedures, called “forfeiture proceedings”, and get a court order.

If you find yourself in this situation because you haven't paid your service charge, get advice from a Shelter or citizens advice bureau as soon as possible.
