Help and advice for leaseholders

There are several laws and Acts of Parliament that protect your rights as a leaseholder. If you’re not sure about your rights, you can contact Citizens Advice or a solicitor for advice. You can also get independent advice from Lease an independent advisory service.

If you want help resolving a dispute with us, you can apply to the First-Tier Tribunal (FTT). The tribunal is independent and will listen to both sides of the argument before making a decision.

The FTT can:

  • decide if a service or administration charge is reasonable and whether you have to pay it
  • resolve disputes about insurance
  • vary residential long leases
  • and more..

Both the council and leaseholders can apply to the FTT,  there is normally a fee to pay.
