Conduct your own search

While the Birmingham City Council offices are closed to the general public, you can request an online appointment to carry out private searches.

You can book an online appointment by emailing highways.searches@birmingham.gov.uk, saying you need a virtual appointment.

You must also tell us which addresses you want us to research. You can do this by completing the highways information visitors register and attaching it to the email you send us.

To join the online appointment, you must use the Microsoft Teams application on a smart phone, tablet, laptop or computer.

Highways Searches Service Improvements

Phase one: Online payments

We are developing a new automated system for Highways Searches at Birmingham City Council.

The first phase of the service improvements will deliver a new online payment system which will streamline the process and reduce the time it takes to get results back.  The solution will utilise World Pay, a secure payment service which is already in use on Birmingham City Council’s website.
