Digbeth is a well-established area with a rich local history. Ambitious plans for regeneration and growth will create a thriving, creative and cultural area with a high quality, accessible environment including the new High Speed Rail station.
There is currently high demand for on-street parking in the area, with all day commuter parking presenting particular issues for local businesses and residents. As the area continues to grow and change, demands for on-street space are likely to increase.
There is a need for effective on-street parking management to manage demand and support business and retail activity in this vibrant area, whilst addressing other sustainable transport and air quality challenges.
In November 2020 we will introduce a parking scheme that seeks to offer local residents and businesses the opportunity to apply for permits that will enable them to park their vehicles in areas reserved for them whilst restricting commuter parking in this area.
