Access to knowledge course
Passing the Knowledge Test is mandatory when applying for a licence from Birmingham City Council. Our figures show that around 65% of private hire applicants taking the Knowledge Test fail.
Our Trading Standards team have developed a 3 hour training course for private hire applicants who want to apply for a licence from us. Attending the course is not compulsory, but will help you prepare for the Knowledge Test.
The Access to Knowledge course will not guarantee that you will pass the Knowledge Test with the Licensing Section. However, it will help you to prepare and give you the information you should know.
The cost of the course is £37 and our courses usually take place on a Thursday morning, depending on demand from drivers. All payments must be made in full before attending the course.
