As the largest local authority in the EU, we constantly generate a lot of interest from all sections of the local community and beyond. Our popular jobs pages are the most visited pages on the Council website. Over 40,000 people visit the jobs pages each week, so your vacancy will get noticed.
We are very competitive on price and provide a tailored service to meet your needs!
Our current options include the following but we would be pleased to consider your ideas too:
- Online only adverts
These can be published within 2 working days of us receiving your advert, subject to our internal checks. We recommend that your advert closing date is at least 7 working days after it has been published online.
- Links to your website
We are also able to provide a direct online link to your organisation.
Our price is £120 + VAT* for your first vacancy advert but if you have a campaign or want to advertise multiple adverts throughout a 12 month period we can negotiate on price.
*VAT is not applicable if you have charitable status.

Schools job vacancy adverts
For schools wishing to advertise their vacancies, we will ensure your advert appears on the Council website.
Schools HR can also arrange for adverts to appear in any media and have negotiated discounts with the Times Educational Supplement (TES), Birmingham Mail and Sutton/Great Barr Observer.
We have a large following on Twitter and post weekly alerts to all of our followers.
We also offer an extended recruitment service, known as ‘Post Box’. This popular service saves schools valuable time spent on response handling applications, creating shortlisting paperwork, chasing references and sending interview invites/rejection letters, as we are able to do this on a schools behalf.
