"Thank you for taking the time to explore what Birmingham City Council's Commercial and Procurement Service (CPS) has to offer.

The fact that you're here tells me you’re someone who wants their work to have a real impact.

Here in the Commercial and Procurement Service, that impact is tangible, because what we do sits at the heart of how Birmingham City Council delivers for its residents.

Birmingham is a council in transformation. As the largest single-tier local authority in Europe, the scale of what we do and what we are working to become is genuinely unlike anywhere else in the public sector. The journey of change runs right through the heart of CPS.

As a council under distinct scrutiny, we have been honest with ourselves about where we needed to improve. As a result of that honesty, we have set ourselves the challenge to redesign the way we work and how we deliver. Our new Operating Model will take up to 5 years to fully implement. Through that reimagined delivery process, we are building stronger foundations, better controls, clearer processes, and a commercial mindset that underpins everything we do. But this is not just a story of recovery. It is a story of ambition.

What we are building inside this redesigned CPS is something to be proud of. A service that is respected, modern and forward-looking. One that aligns as an enabling partner across all elements of this complex organisation and adds genuine value to Birmingham citizens.

This is a place and a time where careers will be forged, and you can make your mark as an individual. If you want your success and impact to be felt across this newly designed service, throughout the organisation, and into our incredible city – we want you with us!

Please explore the roles we have on offer, and I hope to welcome you soon".
