Requirements for the programme

The National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP) is a national programme, and we welcome your application whether you're a:

  • lifelong Brummie
  • made Birmingham your home during university
  • fancy a new challenge in Britain's second-largest city

Being Britain's most diverse city outside of London, we aim to ensure that the council represents the residents we serve. Therefore, we encourage applications from all backgrounds and disciplines who have achieved a 2:2 or above by July 2023 and have the right to work in the UK.

We also welcome applications from current council employees who have an undergraduate degree.

We know that diversity of backgrounds and experiences is necessary to adequately address challenges facing our communities, cities, and regions in current times.

We are equally keen to welcome local trainees and those who are yet to make Birmingham their home.
