Aston Regional Investment Site Compulsory Purchase Order

The Aston Newtown and Lozells Area Action Plan, as adopted in July 2012, designated a 20 hectare Regional Investment Site (RIS), also known as the Advanced Manufacturing Hub (AMH), on land in Aston Hall Road, Lichfield Road, Queens Road and Grosvenor Road, adjacent to the A38.

When developed, the RIS will create new jobs and add to the city’s economy. Details of the Regional Investment Site are available to download. Compulsory purchase orders (CPO) are being used to create this area.

This page will be updated as the CPO progresses.

Phase 1

A CPO for phase one of the RIS was confirmed in January 2015. Phase 1 has been highly successful, with HydraForce moving into a £10 million new facility on the site. This new building will enable the company to expand its workforce from 280 to 500 people by 2018. Guhring also plans to move to a new 3.5 acre site during Phase 1.

A second Compulsory Purchase Order, which is needed for phases 2 and 3 of the RIS, was made on 7 December 2014. This CPO is being made in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency.

A copy of the Compulsory Purchase Order and associated documents are all available to download.
