We all need to work together and act now to make positive changes to the way we live, work, and move around in order to reduce carbon emissions and limit the climate crisis
Between January and February 2020 the council ran an online survey to understand the barriers the people of Birmingham face in helping to tackle the climate change, and to seek people's views and ideas for how different people can take action.
The findings from this survey will inform the work of the Taskforce in developing a climate action plan for the city.
There is a great deal of work that organisations across the city are already doing and the council is working with these groups to build a better understanding of this activity to make sure a coherent and collaborative approach is developed.
We want everyone in the city to be empowered to respond to the climate emergency to ensure that Birmingham is a place in which all of our residents can lead healthy, sustainable, safe, and fulfilling lives.
Recommendations for how the city can take action to respond to the climate emergency are due to be presented at Full Council later this year.
