Travel tips - driving
A lot of development is happening in Birmingham city centre, and this may mean your journey takes a little longer than usual. In particular, roadworks on Broad Street and at Holloway Circus are best avoided. Public transport, cycling and walking really are the best ways to get into town and to keep congestion to a minimum. For up to date information on planned works, diversions and road closures, visit the Birmingham Connected web pages and follow @bhamconnected.
If you do have to drive into Birmingham, allow plenty of time, consider Park and Ride, car sharing or staggering your journey to avoid peak rush hours. We expect demand on some city centre car parks to be particularly heavy. Information about parking.
Remember: If you're planning to drink alcohol, plan how to get home without driving.
