Travel tips - public transport

Most people travelling into the city will do so using the excellent bus, train and tram connections. There are some great offers available for cheaper travel on public transport and it saves the hassle and expense of parking. Information about transport in and around Birmingham.

Swift is the transport smartcard for the West Midlands. Travel by bus or tram is cheaper when you use pay as you go with Swift.

Network West Midlands offers various Day, Family and Group money-saving tickets for travel so that you can spend more on enjoying yourself! The Friends and Family fare offers adult return travel from as little as £1!

National Express West Midlands buses have a range of tickets which could save you money and time. Using their mTicket app for day tickets is cheaper than paying cash fares – a group ticket is just £5 for 2 adults and up to 4 children, or up to 5 adults

Buses, trains and trams may run to different timetables between 24 December and 3 January, so please check before you travel.
