Changes to your collections

We are beginning a waste pilot in North Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. This means we are changing the way we collect your waste and recycling.

For residents in those areas from June 2026, we are starting to introduce a food waste collection. This means there is a change to how often we collect your household waste and recycling.

We will tell you when your weekly food waste collection will start. We will give you an indoor and outdoor food caddy for food waste.

Recycling collections will resume and move to an alternating fortnightly collection with your household waste. This means if we have collected your household waste one week, we will collect your recycling the next week.

When it will start

We will send you a letter to let you know when your new service will start.

If you have not received a letter, your collections will continue as normal.

If you are not sure, you can check your collection schedule online.
